My Guitars

These are clips that showcase my guitars, either as unboxings, or being played, in the order that I bought (or was given) them, from newest to oldest. I'm sure there's more to come! Buy all the guitars!

Discover Why The Gretsch G5230T Electromatic Jet Is My New Fave Guitar! It's new guitar day, and I'm unboxing a brand new Gretsch G5230T Electromatic Jet FilterTron in Gloss Black!

I've wanted a Gretsch for years and this one did not disappoint. Why didn't I just buy one earlier? Let me show you how beautiful this guitar is.

Owning this was a dream come true. But see quickly that dream became a nightmare, and ultimately why I had to reject the guitar and send it back. But now it's back again! Is it still 'The One'?

I've wanted one of these for almost FORTY years! I now own an actual headerless Steinberger Spirit GT-Pro, spiritual successor to the iconic fibreglass GL 80's icon! This video is not sponsored. I bought this guitar with my own money (unfortunately!) Neither Steinberger nor Gibson gave me a guitar to review, although if they want to, I won't refuse!

It's new guitar day, and lucky old me is unboxing a brand new Steinberger Spirit GT-Pro, in black! Let me show you how amazing this guitar truly is. Warning: I'm a learner so don't expect a full technical review, but I will inform and entertain. Honest.

This one is a dream come true. I've wanted this for over THIRTY years! I now own an actual Gibson Les Paul! This video is not sponsored. I bought this guitar with my own money (unfortunately!) Gibson did not give me a guitar to review, although if they want to, I won't refuse!

It's new guitar day, and lucky old me is unboxing a brand new Gibson Les Paul Tribute, in Satin Honeyburst! Let me show you how amazing this guitar truly is. Warning: I'm a beginner so don't expect a full technical review, but I will inform and entertain. Honest.

I can't stop playing this guitar! It's exactly what I wanted in an affordable (Tele) T-type guitar!

It's new guitar day, and lucky old me is unboxing a brand new Fazley Buttercup FTL200BSB-M in Butterscotch Blonde! Let me show you how amazing this affordable guitar is for just £82! I bought, and own, this guitar with my own money. This is not a review guitar or a sponsored review.

I don't  know why but this guitar 'lives' in drop D tuning.

It's new guitar day, and lucky old me is unboxing a brand new Harley Benton SC-Custom Plus with EMG active pick-ups, in matt vintage black! Let me show you how amazing this guitar is for just £358.

At the end of 2020 I was challenged to record a cover version of "Seven Nation Army" by the White Stripes. This kick-started my 2022 drive to not only re-learn the guitar, but improve on my 'skills' from my 20's, finally conquer the instrument, and start the "Guitars Are Hard" YouTube channel to share my experiences and knowledge.

This is my Harley Benton HB-35 Plus in Vintage Cherry. How beautiful is this guitar? This was a 2021 Christmas gift from my lovely wife! (She also bought me my Aria acoustic for my birthday a week before! How lucky am I?)

This is only the second time I recorded the guitar straight from my Boss Katana 100 MkII into a Digital Audio Workstation (Cakewalk by BandLab), and my voice from a Rode Lavalier mic into a Zoom H1N digital Handy Recorder. What do you think of my second attempt at pro sound?

This is my Aria AF-15 Acoustic guitar. This was a 2021 birthday gift from my lovely wife! How lucky am I?

I love the tone from the bronze strings, even if that makes it a little harder to play. It is built with a spruce top for good resonance and basswood back and sides for clear projection and genuine acoustic sound.

Apologies that the guitar is NOT in tune in this clip. I was 'experimenting' with tunings.
This is my 2020 £99 Eastcoast GS100H HSS in Black Metallic (Stratocaster copy) S-type guitar.

Bought in 2020, it's no exaggeration to say that this guitar rekindled my love of playing & learning. This ludicrously brilliant model is still available here, albeit in blue.

For the longest time this was my 'go to' guitar to learn on. Mainly because it's so easy to play! Not sure if that's down to the thin, smooth, flat (16"?) maple neck, the low action or the purpleheart(!) fretboard. This guitar was a fricken' steal!
This is my 1995 Korean made Epiphone Les Paul 100 in Cherryburst. I bought this in 1996 with my uni student loan - I'm not sure that's what it's intended for! It cost between £250 & £400. I forget.

It's really hard to find info on this guitar, but it's mahogany,  maple top, bolt-on 2 piece mahogany neck, with a rosewood fretboard, and open coil, ceramic magnet humbuckers.

It was my third 6-string guitar but was my primary guitar for about 24 years! So, you'll be surprised to hear that I never really took to it until the last few years. Now I love it but prefer my 'real' Gibson Les Paul. Obvs. Do you?
